When I first met my husband, he loved God, read the Bible, we prayed together, and his heart was to serve in the ministry. We even went to Bible College together. I found the man I was looking for. A man to lead our home spiritually.

Years later, and because of MAJOR hurt and spiritual abuse in the church, he wants nothing to do with God, church and Christians.

We were both very wounded. I have gone on to receive some healing in some areas but he has not and refuses to budge.  And because of this I’m now finding it hard to move forward.

Where is the man I married?

As Christians we are taught to wait for that person who God has for you. Find someone with Godly attributes. Look for the ‘A, B, C, and D’s….’ etc.  What happens when all of that disppears?  If God is all knowing then wouldn’t he have seen that my husband would walk away from Him and I would be ‘spiritually single’ (there’s a book out there titled ‘spiritually single’). What would be the point of ALL of this??

I have been praying for years that He would come to love Jesus again and we would share in that together. It has not happened

This is my faith hurdle.  —SJM
