You make me want to watch it again.

And yes, to see people in their entirety is huge. I think even affirming and acknowledging those we interact with in passing — the cash register lady, the bank clerk — is just as essential, even if we don’t know their whole.

Your blog echoes what hit me when I watched Super 8 the other night: young protagonist says of his recently deceased mom that she looked at him and really saw him and “I existed.” In a flash I realized nobody else in his life (best friend, father, etc) really saw him.

Love means really seeing others in their entirety, a lesson I’ve been learning over recent years.
