Your blog echoes what hit me when I watched Super 8 the other night:  young protagonist says of his recently deceased mom that she looked at him and really saw him and &quot;I existed.&quot;  In a flash I realized nobody else in his life (best friend, father, etc) really saw him.

Love means really seeing others in their entirety,  a lesson I&#039;ve been learning over recent years.
