Biographical:

Philip's unique lifestyle as a musician, photographer, and writer gives him a variety of tools to observe, critique, and engage the culture around him. Growing up in the Evangelical landscape of the American South, he has lived in a very religious atmosphere his entire life. Although he has struggled to fit the mold, he has chosen not to leave behind his heritage but to continue to navigate this religious landscape to offer a different perspective on how a follower of God can and should live within his or her on culture.

Philip holds a degree in Religious and Cultural Communication. He has studied under leading scholars in the field of Judaic Studies, and continues to study how this tradition can inform his faith in a fresh way.

Philip lives in Memphis, TN with his wife, Savannah, and their border collie, AmyDog. When not studying or writing, he runs a photography business with his wife (avagracephotography.com) and plays music at his church and various music studios.
